The Government of India set up the National Centre for Good Governance by upgrading the National Institute of Administrative Research (NIAR), an autonomous research and training institution established under the aegis of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie,the Government of India's apex training institution for higher civil services i.e. the IAS and allied services.The National Centre for Good Governance is set up as an apex level institute for research and training to deal with the entire gamut of governance issues from national to state to the local level and in sectors across the Government. The focus of the NCGG would be action oriented research in good Governance. NCGG would also function as a national repository on information on best practices, initiatives and methodologies that promote good Governance, eGovernanceinitiatives and capacity building within the Government.The Branch Office of the NCGG is located in the salubrious and pristine climes of Mussoorie, also known as the Queen of Hills in India at Cozy Nook Complex, Charliville Road. It combines the very best in training and capacity building. The Faculty comprises carefully chosen civil servants, practitioners, leading academics and eminent visitors with distinctive academic and professional accomplishments. With world-class infrastructure and vibrant campus life. It offers boundless opportunities to a perceptive trainee to learn and engage.
